FAQs
As babies have no fear of water and can adapt to it very quickly, they can start learning to swim as early as six months old!
Read the class descriptions and choose the level you feel best fits your child’s skill level. Occasionally, kids may be ahead or behind other youngsters in terms of their swimming ability due to their different water comfort level. We will evaluate your child during his/her first lesson and then reallocate him/her if necessary.
Our swimming coaches are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, friendly and patient and will quickly help your child overcome any fear he/she may feel. Should your child suffer from separation anxiety rather than fear of the water itself, please try and stay out of sight during the lesson and he/she will soon calm down.
Children under the age of three should wear re-useable diapers. Thermal tops are recommended during colder, winter months.
Please bring goggles, a swim cap and a comfortable swimsuit.
Please also pack a towel or robe and some flip-flops for before and after the lesson. Our swimming instructor may advise you to bring other items along if needed.
Our programs run all year round with enrolments normally accepted on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.
As different swimming coaches have different approaches and styles to suit individuals, we will be happy to try to accommodate your wishes depending on availability.
Small group lessons are a more effective and fun way for most children to learn to swim as they allow for more social interaction and enable kids to learn from one and other. That said, private lessons can be a good way of boosting your child’s confidence and specific skills in the short-term.
Private swimming lessons are ideal for youngsters who need to overcome a fear of water or have other special issues. For more advanced swimmers, specific techniques are also more easily picked up during such lessons?
No. However, a child’s swimming skills may become ‘rusty’ if he/she goes without a lesson for too long!
If your child has a cold, but is eating well and acting normally, please feel free to bring him/her to class. Please do not bring your child along if he/she is running a fever, not eating or shows signs of bacterial infection.
As a rule of thumb, swimmers should not eat for at least half hour before a lesson. It’s also advisable to avoid heavy oily food before any aquatic (or any physical) activities as such foods can cause cramps or nausea. At the same time, never bring your child to class with an empty stomach.
Sorry, but we do not offer refunds or replacements for missed group classes. As consistency is vital, please try your hardest to ensure your child attends his/her regular swimming lessons. If a class needs to be cancelled due to a fault on our side, we will, however, be happy to offer a refund or replacement.
Yes. We always try to accommodate such requests depending on the availability of the coach concerned. Normally, refunds or replacements will only be offered if you produce a sick note from your doctor and advise us of your child’s absence at least 24 hours in advance.
Yes, certificates are provided for children who complete each level.
